Arabella Has Gone Home!

The wait is over…ARABELLA HAS GONE HOME!!!!

LEG UP’s very first kitty leaves us with full hearts. Happy life to you, Arabella, and to your wonderful forever family!

And thank you to all your friends who made today a dream come true!arabellahome

Meet Arabella, our very first LEG UP CAT!  She was a Syracuse stray with what must be a sad story to tell, if only she could.

Some traumatic encounter mangled the bones in her hind leg.  She was lost, in pain, and poorly equipped to find enough food to survive.  Arabella grew thinner and thinner.

Much more so than dogs, wounded cats become invisible as they struggle to hide their vulnerability.  But something about Arabella’s loving nature must have caught the eye of a Good Samaritan who brought the disabled cat to the attention of authorities.

Frail Arabella was transported to Dewitt Animal Hospital.  She began medication for diarrhea; one can never be sure what a starving animal has ingested when she’s forced to forage for food.  Of greater concern, it was determined that for her life-long safety and ease of mobility, Arabella’s twisted leg requires amputation.

That brings us to today.  Our LEG UP FUND has committed to pay for the surgery.  We can only do this with the help of generous people like you.  THAT IS WHY YOUR DONATION IS SO IMPORTANT!  Despite her pain and hunger, Arabella has remained an incredibly gentle, affectionate kitty who will bring sweet joy to a new forever family.

It is caring people like you who have allowed LEG UP to step up for hurting homeless pets who have no families to shepherd their care.  You helped sponsor treatment for 13 wonderful homeless dogs who are now healthy and safe in loving homes.  Now it’s Arabella’s turn.

YOU CAN HELP by making a tax-deductible donation of any amount to LEG UP.
